The Andhra Pradesh state government, on Monday, changed the holiday for Sri Krishnashtami, which is scheduled to be celebrated on September 2.
As per the revised date, the government declared September 1 a holiday instead of September 2. The government has issued orders in this connection.
It is believed that the government changed the holiday in the wake of former chief minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's first death anniversary, which is on Sept 2.
