Former minister Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao died on Saturday due to cardiac arrest.
According to reporters, Vidyadhara Rao sufferred a massive heart attack and collapsed while he was boarding a car. According to sources, the former minister was getting ready to go to Thoorpu Edavalli village to campaign for his daughter Anitha who is contesting for the post of sarpanch. His body was later shifted to his native place - Kamavarapu Kotal Mandal - for funeral.
Vidyadhara Rao began his career in 1983 and represented the Chintalapudi constituency of West Godavari district five times.
He served as a minister in the cabinets of both N T Rama Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu. Due to his close association with Chiranjeevi, he moved to Praja Rajyam Party after it was launched. After Chiranjeevi merged PRP with the Congress party, Vidyadhara Rao was made the official spokesperson.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and other leaders have expressed shock over Vidyadhara Rao's death. (INN)
