Komatireddy Opposes Uttam Elevation As TPCC Chief
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said it was unfair of the Congress High Command to impose its decision on the Telangana unit without consulting the party leaders here.
Congress senior leader and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy strongly opposed the selection of N Uttam Kumar Reddy as the new president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises on Tuesday, Komatireddy said that it was inappropriate on the part of the Congress High Command to impose its decision on the state unit without even consulting the party's legislators, MPs and other leaders in the state.
He said that the selection of the new TPCC chief was not done in a democratic manner, and that it would only hurt the party's interests in Telangana.
Meanwhile, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar welcomed the elevation of Uttam Kumar Reddy as TPCC president.
He said that being a loyal Congress worker, he (Ponnam) welcomed the decision taken by the Congress High Command. (INN)
