Komatireddy Hurls Headphones At Governor, Hits Swamy Goud
The gruesome incident in the Telangana Assembly is likely to result in serious action against the Nalgonda MLA belonging to the Congress.

The Telangana Assembly budget session began on Monday morning amidst unruly scenes with Congress members tearing off the papers and throwing them in the well, and Nalgonda Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hurling his headphone at Governor E S L Narasimhan when the latter was delivering his address to the joint session of the legislature. The headphone missile missed the Governor but hit Council Chairman Kanakamamidi Swamy Goud, injuring his right eye.
While the entire House was dazed by the violent incident, the alert Marshals rushed to the aid of Goud and shifted him to the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital at Mehdipatnam.
The ruling party legislators trooped to the hospital en masse after the Governor's address. Later, the Governor also went to the hospital and consoled the injured Council Chairman.
Meanwhile, the state government reportedly took the incident very seriously and is contemplating severe action against the erring Congress MLA. The government is likely to initiate action against Komatireddy soon after the Houses reassemble on Tuesday morning, and is likely to urge the Speaker to suspend the MLA for one year from the Assembly.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao recently warned of serious action against those members who tried to obstruct the Governor's address or tries to stall the proceedings in the House.
While the visuals of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hurling his headphone towards the Governor were recorded, the "missile" hitting and injuring the Goud's right eye was not recorded.
Speaking to the media later, Komatireddy told the media that the Congress had tried to lodge its protest against the Governor's address as the latter had failed to mention the problems of the farmers. "At this juncture, I lost my temper and rushed to the podium along with fellow Congress members. But the marshals obstructed us. In the melee, the marshals kicked me. I received an injury to my leg. I too went for an X-ray test. Why are there restrictions imposed only in the Assembly when the TRS MPs are entering the podium every day in Parliament?" he asked.
