Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today accused Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy of discriminating against Telangana in the allocation of funds for various proposals.
Speaking to the media, the Venkat Reddy said that he had requested the Union minister to sanction Rs 200 crore for building a ropeway on the Bhuvanagiri Fort four years ago, but that there had been no response from the latter.
"Kishan Reddy could not sanction even Rs 200 crore for his own State. He should stop making derogatory remarks against the Congress government and instead allocate funds for the proposals received from the Telangana government," Venkat Reddy said.
"And when the Centre has sanctioned Rs 4,000 crore for the Namami Ganga project, why it not giving funds to the Musi Riverfront project? Why is Kishan Reddy silent and not responding over the matter?" Venkat Reddy asked.
He also said that upon a request to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the Telangana government had received approvals for projects worth Rs 3,000 crore from the Centre, but Kishan Reddy, despite being a native of Telangana, had done nothing for the State.
Condemning the remarks of Kishan Reddy that the Congress government would be toppled soon, Venkat Reddy dared the Union minister to "touch" the State government, and warned him of severe consequences if he tried to pull any stunts.
Venkat Reddy also alleged that there was a tacit understanding between the BRS and the BJP, and that as part of their friendship, former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao was going to Delhi to get relief from the cases against him.
