Protesting the killing of top Maoist leader Mallojula Koteshwara Rao alias Kishenji in West Midnapur in West Bengal in a police encounter, the Maoist Central Committee on Sunday called for a 2-day Bharat Bandh on 4-5 Dec.
A letter released to some media organisations by Maoists' Central Committee member and spokesperson Abhay said that the committee has taken serious note of Kishenji's "fake encounter", which he described as "cold blooded murder".
Stating that Kishenji's death was a great loss and big blow to the Maoist movement, he said that the committee blames Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for his death.
Abhay also said that committee has vowed to "take revenge at an appropriate time".
Abhay said that the committee has called upon Maoists to observe protest marches from 29 Nov to 5 Dec across the country in protest against Kishenji's killing.
He called upon the Maoists to observe a 2-day Bharat Bandh on 4 and 5 Dec, and a Telangana bandh on 1 and 2 Dec. The Maoists have exempted medical and emergency services from the bandh. (INN)
