The lobbying for Telangana is gaining momentum, as KCR’s fast-unto-death enters its 9th day now. As the 48-hour bandh organized by T-supporters continues well into the second day, life in Hyderabad and other regions of Telangana shows few signs of normalcy today.
Freedom fighter Konda Lakshman Bapuji and TRS legislator T Harish Rao, and E Rajender are among those arrested during the spate of rasta rokos and rallies being organized by TRS workers and student unions.
Even as Congress ministers in the Rosaiah cabinet have written to the AICC president on Saturday seeking a lasting solution to the Telangana issue, other political parties have not been numb to the developments on the political stage.
On Sunday, the TDP reiterated its stance on Telangana, saying that it would support the formation of a separate state if a resolution was moved in the Assembly. BJP leader Kishan Reddy has also offered support to the Telangana cause. Chiranjeevi’s party, PRP, is also supporting the TRS.
Meanwhile, KCR’s health is deteriorating, and doctors have requested KCR’s family to get him to end the fast-unto-death.
