As the deadline of the coronavirus lockdown in the state of May 7 looms close, the Telangana government will decide on the further steps on May 5.
The Centre has extended the lockdown till May 17 across the country, with some relaxations, especially in the orange and green zones.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will hold a key cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan at 2 pm on May 5, in the light of this development. He will chair the meeting and discuss with the top brass the next steps for the lockdown.
The CM will announce the decision on a possible extension of the lockdown after the meeting.
The Telangana government is most likely to announce an extension of the lockdown by two weeks till May 21, it is being said. This is despite claims by some ministers that the state may be free of the corona crisis by May 8.
