TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday visited the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad along with his family, and performed special poojas, to mark the Bonalu festival.
KCR also offered silk clothes to the Goddess Mahankali.
Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha also visited the Mahankali temple, carrying Bonalu on her head, and performed poojas.
Kavitha said that the Bonalu festival is a symbol of the tradition and culture of the people of Telangana.
Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convener Prof. M Kodandaram also visited the temple for a darshan of the Goddess Mahankali, and performed special poojas.
Meanwhile, Kodandaram has demanded that the government declare the Bonalu festival a national event. (INN)
