Congress leader M Kodanda Reddy asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao why there were no discussions on farmer issues that arosed due to the recent demonetization, during the recent Cabinet meeting at Pragati Bhavan.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Reddy lashed out at the TRS government for not having any firm policy in store for farmers and State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC). He said that neither the Centre nor the State cared about the agriculture sector or farmers. KCR spoke only about realtors, but ignored farmers, he added.
He found fault with the Centre for not permitting Cooperative banks to accept the old 500 and 1,000 currency, even though the latter was an RBI-recognized banking entity.
"Neither the Centre nor the State government are bothered about the problems of the farmers that ensued from the demonetization move," he deplored.
