Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today expressed his condolences over the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayaram Jayalalithaa, who passed away on Monday night at 11:30 pm in Chennai's Apollo Hospital after suffering a massive cardiac arrest.
"In her passing, the State of Tamil Nadu has been left with a void which is difficult to fill in. It is a great loss to the State," the Chief Minister said.
"At a time when women entering politics was rare, Jayalalithaa created history and changed political dynamics in Tamil Nadu by becoming AIADMK General Secretary, and later on by becoming the Chief Minister of TN," KCR said.
After quitting acting, she proved her worth in politics, too, the CM said.
The Chief Minister deputed Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao go on behalf of Telangana to the "Iron Lady's" funeral.
