Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today attended the last rites of the departed Congress legislator from Narayankhed, Patlolla Krishna Reddy alias Kishta Reddy, at the Panchagam village in the Medak district.
Kishta Reddy had breathed his last at a hospital on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister paid tributes to the departed leader by placing a wreath on his body. The last rites were held with government honours and a gun salute.
KCR recalled Reddy's services for his constituency and the people of the state.
Ministers T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and A Indrakaran Reddy, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender, and Congress leaders N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka K Jana Reddy, J Geetha Reddy, V Hanumantha Rao, C Damodara Rajanarasimha and D K Aruna were among those who attended the event.
The entire village of Panchagam and people from the adjoining hamlets turned up to pay their last respects to the leader, and most of his followers and other people grieved over the demise. The police had a tough time controlling the people.
