BJP leader Dr K Lakshman alleged that the Swachch Hyderabad campaign proposed by the Telangana CM was aimed at receiving kickbacks for the next GHMC polls.
BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman on Thursday alleged that the Swachch Hyderabad campaign proposed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was aimed at receiving huge kickbacks for the next GHMC polls.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Lakshman said that there was no need to spend Rs 1,000 crores on the Swachch Hyderabad campaign as there was an ongoing Swachch Bharat campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few months ago.
He said that a huge allocation of funds for regular works gave a clear indication of a major scam in the making.
He also described the Chief Minister's announcement on weaker section housing as misleading and aimed at drawing political mileage ahead of the upcoming GHMC elections.
Lakshman dared KCR to hold the GHMC elections in the next two months. He said KCR had turned active only after High Court ordered that elections be held by December 15. (INN)
