Newly inducted Union Minister for textiles, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, appears to have taken a U-turn with regard to his stand on the Telangana issue. Kavuri, who has been known to oppose the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, now appears to have softened a little.
Kavuri, on Friday, said that he had no objection to whatever stand the High Command takes with respect to the Telangana issue. kavuri affirmed that he will accept the High Command's decision on the issue.
By way of an explanation, Kavuri said that "life is full of compromises, and that one has to compromise on certain issues".
Kavuri also went ahead and thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi for inducting him into the Union Cabinet.
Responding to a question, Kavuri denied rumours that he had got the Union minister's post by threatening to quit the party.
He claimed that the High Command gave him the post after examining his qualifications. (INN)
