Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that the Kaleshwaram project being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 25,000 crores would settle the State's persistent drought problem once and for all.
Addressing a gathering at Nanganur on Tuesday after participating in various development programs, Harish Rao said that through Kaleshwaram, the Siddipet district would start receiving Godavari waters by next year.
He also said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was a visionary and was working round the clock to develop the State.
"KCR-led Telangana has spent around Rs. 2,500 crores on increasing power output in the State. Around 10,000 MW of power is ready for supply for this winter. Nine-hours duration of power is being supplied across the State and will continue to be supplied even during Rabi. Additional power lines have been laid for about 2,000 km," the irrigation minister said.
