Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao directed HMDA officials to focus on transforming Hyderabad into a global city using innovative and unconventional methods.
In a meeting, KTR discussed the status of the ongoing projects and the future needs, and asked the officials to prioritize every project. He reiterated that not only did the Chief Minister want to transform the city into a "global destination", he wanted it to happen quickly.
He said that the officials should make efforts to acquire funds through the public-private partnership model, land pooling model and other similar financial models.
The officials informed KTR that the city would need 12 logistics hubs for future needs. They said that they had already finalized tenders for the Bata Singaram Park of 40 acres for Rs 35 crores and the Mangalapalli Park of 20 acres for Rs 20 crores.
KTR asked the officials to hold a meeting with the logistics stakeholders to discuss proposals for fleet and logistic terminals being set up at Bhuvanagiri, Timmapur, Edunagaulapally, Manoharabad and Ravulapally.
He also directed the officials to coordinate with the Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities to construct intercity bus and rail terminals in the twin cities, and to complete underground power, fiber and cabling using duct facility around the Outer Ring Road.
