Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao today laid the foundation stones for a new vaccines plant being constructed by Biological E. Ltd., in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Genome Valley in Kolthur village on the city outskirts.
Rao was accompanied by Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Pharmaceuticals Global chairman Dr. Paul Stoffels, Biological E Managing Director Mahima Datla, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Director-General of Indian Council of Medical Research Soumya Swaminathan, and Medchal MLA M Sudheer Reddy at the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the efforts of Biological E Ltd to expand its base which was in sync with the State government's vision of industrial expansion, creation of employment, and commitment to make Hyderabad an industrial hub.
He claimed that BE was one of the foremost Pharmaceutical & Biology Companies in India being based out of Telangana, and added that in addition to exporting substantial amount of vaccines, it contributed significantly to the Universal Immunization Program launched by the Centre.
