Hailing the
announcement of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's son Jaganmohan Reddy to form a new party within next 45 days, former MLC Gattu Ramachandra Rao on Tuesday stated the new party would come in existence since Telugu self-respect was at stake.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, Ramachandra Rao stated that Jaganmohan Reddy had taken a leaf out of Telugu Desam Party founder N T Rama Rao's book. He said that NTR had taken up the issue of injured Telugu Atma Gauravam or Telugu Self respect in 1983, and had vanquished the Congress party in the elections.
The staunch Jagan supporter added that the Congress party had forgotten to redress people's problems, and also had totally failed in implementing welfare schemes launched for the benefit of poor and middle class people.
Ramachandra Rao added that a section of Congress leaders had hatched a conspiracy to target Jaganmohan Reddy and sideline him.
The former MLC expressed confidence that if the former Kadapa MP's party came to power, all the schemes launched by former chief minister YSR would be implemented in letter and spirit by his son and political heir Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
