Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman K Radhakrishnan and 10 of his colleagues on Sunday sought the blessings of the Lord at the famous Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.
Dr. Radhakrishnan took part in the Suprabhatam Seva, the dawn rituals, in the temple, and later had a darshan of the Lord in the sanctum sanctorum.
The ISRO chief placed a replica of the PSLV-C15 at the foot of the Lord during the dawn rituals. Dr. Radhakrishnan prayed for the successful launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C15, which will carry 5 payloads.
Among these 5 payloads is the country's remote sensing satellite Cartosat-2B and the 'Studsat'.
The Studsat is a pico-satellite (very small) built by 7 engineering students from AP and Karnataka.
Apart from these, the PSLV will carry Alsat from Algeria, and 2 nano satellites, from Canada and Switzerland.
The PSLV will blast off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota in Nellore district, on July 12.
The ISRO chief and his colleagues were received warmly by the TTD officials on their arrival from Bangalore on Saturday night. They left for Sriharikota after the darshan.
