The state sports minister Komatireddy Vankat Reddy has said that according to IPL organizers, the matches set to be played in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad were being moved out. The city was to host 4 matches by the home team the Deccan Chargers - 2 of them will now be played in Vizag.
Earlier, the IPL inaugural ceremony and match were moved out to Mumbai owing to the political situation in Hyderabad.
Komatireddy has apparently protested to the ICC president Sharad Pawar, asking him to prevail upon the IPL governing council to reconsider the decision of moving IPL entirely out of Hyderabad. He said the Telangana JAC has assured to extend full cooperation for the conduct of matches, and the police also have made the necessary security arrangements.
Copies of his letter were also marked to Sonia Gandhi, Chidambaram and the IPL chief Lalit Modi.
