This year's overall pass percentage is more than last year's (58.43%).
Once again, girls outperformed boys in the Intermediate Second Year examinations, whose results were released on Friday evening.
A total of 2,54,258 girls, or 69.04%, passed the Inter Second Year exams, while the boys' pass rate stood at 62%.
The girls' pass percentage was much above the overall pass percentage of 65.36% in the General Regular category.
Similarly, a total of 34.77% girls cleared the exam, compared to 28.30% boys, in the General Private category.
The overall pass percentage in vocational courses was 48.60% in the regular category, and 25.55% in the private category.
Releasing the results at the Board Of Intermediate's Office at Nampally, Secondary Education minister K Parthasarathy said that this year's overall pass percentage was more than that in the previous year (58.43%).
Of 7,71,587 regular candidates, about 48.31% secured an A grade or more than 75% marks, 31.81% got a B grade (60-75% marks), 14.99% got a C grade (50-60% marks), and 4.90% secured a D grade (35-50%).
In the General category, Krishna district stood on top, with a pass percentage of 77, followed by Visakhapatnam (72), Nellore (69), Guntur (68), Chittoor (67), West Godavari (66), Ranga Reddy (66), Srikakulam (60), East Godavari (60), Prakasam (60), Kurnool (58), Kadapa (57), Anantapur (56), Khammam (56), Hyderabad (56), Vizianagaram (56), Adilabad (54), Karimnagar (52), Warangal (51), Nalgonda (49), Nizamabad (48), Medak (46) and Mahabubnagar (45).
In the Vocational category, Srikakulam was on top, with a pass percentage of 65, followed by Nellore (60), Krishna (58), Nalgonda (57), Chittoor (54), Adilabad (52), Visakhapatnam (50), Kurnool (50), Guntur (51), Kadapa (48), Hyderabad (48), Vizianagaram (48), Ranga Reddy (47), Medak (46), Khammam (43), Prakasam (42), Anantapur (42), Warangal (40), Nizamabad (38), West Godavari (38), East Godavari (37), Karimnagar (34) and Mahabubnagar (28).
Among groups, MPC (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) was on top, with a pass percentage of 75.37, followed by BPC (67.99), MEC (73.52), CEC (50.07) and HEC (38.31).
The minister said that principals of colleges could collect memoranda of marks and tabulation records from Regional Inspection Officers on April 30. Any discrepancies found in the memoranda of marks should be referred to the Board through the principals concerned before 25-05-2013, he added.
The Second Year Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations will be held from May 22, between 2:30pm and 5:30pm, and the last date for the payment of the examination fee is May 6.
The last date for the online payment of fee towards recounting / photocopy-cum-reverification is May 7. (INN)
