Officials heaved a sigh of relief as the landslide triggered due to heavy rains, on the Ghat Road of Sri Kanakadurga temple on the Indrakeeladri, did not cause harm to devotees.
According to sources, the landslide was triggered on Thursday morning due to heavy rains on the ghat road, resulting in huge boulders rolling down.
However, no casualties have been reported, as a thin number of devotees were thronged the temple for a darshan of the Goddess.
Officials immediately suspended the traffic on the road, and pressed proclains into service to remove the debris. The traffic on the road would be restored after the debris is cleared, they stated.
As for permanent measures to check landslides on the ghat road, temple officials stated that they would take up the issue with the departments concerned.
