Ibrahim Yafai's Mother Demands Owaisi's Arrest

Zubaida Begum, the mother of Ibrahim Younus Yafai - who was shot dead in Barkas last year, on Monday called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking justice for the murder of her son.

Zubaida Begum, along with PUCL General Secretary Jaya Vidyalaya, met the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat. Briefing the Chief Minister about the case, she said that the Chandrayangutta police has already registered a murder case against MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and others. However, she said, no action has been taken against them. Demanding the immediate arrest of Akbaruddin Owaisi, she alleged that her family members were being threatened by the MIM leaders.

Talking to media persons later, Zubaida Begum said that the Chief Minister has assured to take action in this regard and that no one, irrespective of their political affiliation and influence, would be allowed to take law into their hands. She said that while her family had lost Ibrahim Yafai, all men in the family were being harassed and tortured by the MIM.

It may be mentioned that the Chandrayangutta police has registered a murder case on October 8 against Akbaruddin Owaisi, Malakpet MLA Ahmed Balala, gunman Jani Mia and MIM corporator Mansoor Awalgi in the murder case of Ibrahim Yafai. It was done on a complaint lodged by Awadh Bin Younus Yafai, the brother of the deceased, on September 4. (INN)
