Hyderabad Must Remain Telangana Capital City: Palvai

Telangana leaders are willing to share Hyderabad with Andhra Pradesh for a brief period, but sharing it on a permanent basis is not acceptable, says the RS MP.
Hyderabad | 10th August 2013
Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy, on Saturday, reiterated that Hyderabad would remain the capital of the Telangana state, and that any change in its status would not be accepted.

Talking to reporters, Palvai said that Telangana leaders were willing to share Hyderabad as a joint capital with Andhra Pradesh for a brief period, but that sharing the city on a permanent basis was not acceptable to the people of the Telangana region.

He also said that there ought to be no problem if the union government handles the law and order of Hyderabad for some time.

Palvai alleged that leaders from the Seemandhra region have moved away the resources of the Telangana region in the last several decades, and that they were now opposing the state's bifurcation in order to protect their selfish interests. (INN)
