One Arrested for Selling Govt Land, Defrauding Rs 1.7 Crore

The case is currently under investigation by L Samaram Reddy of the Economic Offences Wing, Cyberabad.
Hyderabad | 2nd November 2024
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Police of Cyberabad today arrested a man involved in forgery and cheating.

The man, identified as Udandapuram Narsimlu from Ratnapur village, Medak district, created fabricated documents related to a government land in Allipur village, Medak district, convincing the complainant, N V V Subrahmanyam, a priest at Sri Nikhila Sai Maitreya Madhusudhana Saraswati Peetham in Suraram Colony, Jeedimetla, that the property was private.

He collected Rs 1.7 crore from Subrahmanyam and from another individual, Aleti Kumar.

Police have registered Case No 77/2024 under sections 420, 406, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

Subrahmanyam intended to purchase land in Shivampet mandal to construct a temple. In 2018, while searching for land, he met Narsimlu at the Tahsildar office in the mandal.

Narsimlu introduced himself as an employee at the Tahsildar office, claiming that he would soon be promoted to Deputy Tahsildar, thus gaining the complainant's trust. He assured Subrahmanyam that he would help him acquire land for the temple.

Narsimlu showed him some government land on the outskirts of Allipur village, and Subrahmanyam agreed to purchase it. Subsequently, Narsimlu fabricated pahanis and other related documents, purportedly issued by the Tahsildar of the mandal, which he provided to the complainant and collected Rs 1,20,00,000.

He also defrauded Aleti Kumar, collecting an additional Rs 50,00,000.

The case is currently under investigation by L Samaram Reddy of the Economic Offences Wing, under the supervision of K Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, EOW, Cyberabad.
