Hyderabad district in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar today inaugurated a state-of-the-art multi-level parking facility at Nampally junction, developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis by HMRL Novam.
The inauguration was attended by minister Azharuddin, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, GHMC Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, HMRL Advisor N V S Reddy and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said that the facility was established to ease Hyderabad's growing parking and traffic challenges.
Built at a cost of Rs 102 crore on 2,000 square yards of land provided by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL), the project will operate under a 50-year agreement with Novam.
The 15-storey structure includes 10 floors dedicated to parking, with space for 200 cars and 200 two-wheelers, while the remaining floors will house commercial establishments. Equipped with fully automated German technology, the parking system functions without human intervention, allowing drivers to park their vehicles using a turntable mechanism and retrieve them with a swipe card.
Calling it the first such facility in the country, the minister said that it would significantly benefit motorists in the congested Nampally area while offering parking at affordable rates.
