Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde assured that no stone will be left unturned to punish those responsible for Dilsukhnagar twin blast.
Addressing a press conference at Lake View Guest House here on Friday, Shinde said that Andhra Pradesh Government has already appointed an investigation team to probe into the blasts. He also clarified that the alert issued by the Union Home Ministry was general for the entire country and there was no specific intelligence of an attack in Hyderabad. He said since the investigation has just begun, it would be too early to comment whether the blasts were the result of failure of intelligence.
Shinde also confirmed that 14 people were killed and 119 were injured in the twin blasts. He said the condition of six injured people was critical. He said that the State Government and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh have already announced ex-gratia for the families of the deceased and all medical expenses of the injured would be borne by the government.
Earlier, Shinde, who reached the city early in the morning from the national capital, visited the blasts' site at Dilsukhnagar and later called on the injured at Care Hospital at Banjara Hills. He directly went from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad to the blast site.
Shinde was accompanied with Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy and other senior officials and ministers. (INN)
