Hussain Sagar Constructions: HC Notices To GHMC, HMDA

The Hyderabad High Court asked the bodies for details of construction activities going on around the lake despite Supreme Court directions in this regard.

The Hyderabad High Court has served notices on the GHMC and HMDA to submit details about construction activities going on under the Hussain Sagar FTL limits in spite of Supreme Court directions in this regard.

The High Court acted following a PIL filed by former minister and Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy.

Reddy urged the High Court to direct the government not to take up constructions on the Hussain Sagar lake premises. He alleged that construction activities were going on under the Hussain Sagar FTL limits, despite clear directions from the Supreme Court not to take up any such activities under the tank's premises.
