Former minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao suffered a setback today in the Telangana High Court.
The court dismissed his petition to quash the ACB case against him regarding the Formula E race payments.
The court sided with the State government's arguments and overturned the interim order preventing the police from arresting KTR.
In its verdict, the court emphasized that the rule of law applied to all, and lifted the stay on KTR's arrest.
ACB officials are now likely to arrest KTR at any time.
Following the verdict, a large number of BRS leaders gathered at KTR's residence in anticipation of his possible arrest. Senior leader Harish Rao and other BRS leaders also arrived at KTR's residence to discuss the next course of action.
Meanwhile, the ACB has intensified its investigation into the case. Officials conducted searches at Greenko's office in Madhapur. Electoral bonds of Rs 41 crore from Greenko's subsidiaries to the BRS have surfaced in connection with the Formula E race case.
