Heavy Inflows Boost Power Generation

Good monsoon and heavy inflows into reservoirs have improved power generation in AP.
On Thursday alone, APGENCO's total generation was 137.702 million units, an increase of 26 MU or 23.49% compared to last year. Also, 65.07 MU was generated on Thursday, the peak Hydel generation was 2,965 MW, and the peak Thermal generation was 3,220 MW.
The total inflows to Jurala Project were 4,49,000 cusecs, and the Jurala Power house generated 1.667 MU.
The total inflows to Srisailam Dam were 5,80,612 cusecs, and the APGENCO generated 32.884 MU from both the Srisailam Left Bank Project and the Srisailam Right Bank Project.
The total inflows to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam were 4,59,144 cusecs, and 19.345 MU were generated from the main power house and 2.435 MU from both the right and left canals.
The total discharges from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam downstream were 52,769 cusecs.
The total inflows to Sielru basin was 8,972 cusecs, and Sileru power houses generated 6.022 MU.
In addition, the other hydel power plants located at Nizamsagar, Sriram Sagar, Singur, and other mini-hydel plants generated 1.999 MU. (INN)
