Harish Seeks Komatireddy's Help In Land Acquisition
The Telangana minister requested the Congress MLA for help in land acquisition for the speedy completion of the irrigation projects in the Nalgonda district.
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has requested Congress senior MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to extend his help in land acquisition for the speedy completion of the irrigation project works in the Nalgonda district.
Reacting to the doubts raised by Komatireddy under a short notice discussion on the progress of the irrigation projects in the Nalgonda district in the Assembly on Sunday, Rao said that the inspections of canals, CM & CD works, distributory network and embankment works were under progress. Earth works like excavation of the approach channel, excavation of the main tunnel, COT filling, laying of horizontal sand filters and bunds, excavation of surge pools and excavation of pump houses of the AMR Brahmana Vellamula Lift Irrigation Project were completed, he claimed. The minister said that the project would be completed by 2017.
When Komatireddy asked about the Srisailam Left Bank Tunnel works, the minister said that the works would be completed by 2019. The minister said that the previous governments had not shown interest in completing the tunnel Works, and that had made the project works more complicated. The TRS government had cleared all complications recently, and the works would be taken up again. He also invited Komatireddy to join him in his visit of the tunnel works.
He said that the State government was very keen on supplying drinking water to the fluoride-affected Nalgonda district. The Chief Minister knew very well about the district's woes, he added.
