Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday threatened to file a defamation suit against TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy if the latter failed to apologise for linking him with the sand mafia.
Speaking to media persons, Rao denied all the allegations leveled against him by Reddy, and denied having any connection with the sand mafia.
Accusing Reddy of levelling personal allegations to tarnish the image of the TRS government, Rao asked the TDP MLA to apologise within 24 hours for his remarks. Else, he vowed to file a defamation suit against Reddy.
Addressing a separate press conference, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy too threatened to take legal action against Revanth Reddy for the serious allegations that he leveled against him. He said that neither he nor his family members were connected to the patta lands in Banswada of the Nizamabad district.
Stating that he would file a defamation suit against the TDP MLA, he advised Revanth Reddy not to level personal allegations without having any proof for them. (INN)
