Digvijay Singh Asks For Suggestions On Bifurcation
Digvijay Singh requested the elected representatives and others to submit their suggestions to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana by November 5.
The Congress-led UPA government appears to have made a hastened decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, to carve out the Telangana state.
A day after the Union Home Ministry constituted a Task Force headed by former Director General of CRPF K Vijayakumar to study AP's bifurcation, AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, on Tuesday, requested the elected representatives and others to submit their suggestions to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana by November 5.
"I appeal to all the people to give concrete suggestions, which can be taken into cognizance by the GoM, and could be included in the Telangana Bill. We must include the best provision in the bill which should be in the interest of both Seemandhra and Telangana," Digvijay Singh told reporters in New Delhi.
The GoM will meet again in the capital on November 7, and it is likely that reports received from various departments (which were asked for in thr previous meeting) will be reviewed.
Sources say that the Centre plans to complete the process of AP's bifurcation in the next 6 weeks, so that the Bill can be introduced in the Parliament by December 7. (INN)
