The standing committee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, on Wednesday, accepted the recommendations of the Prasada Rao Committee on the new staffing pattern of the Corporation.
In its meeting held at the GHMC headquarters at Tank Bund, the standing committee used the Prasada Rao Committee's recommendations to create as many as 2,607 posts.
The standing committee also increased the sanctioning powers of both the GHMC Mayor and the Commissioner. It approved the filling up of the vacant post of "assistant foreman" as well.
Addressing a press conference later, GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain said that the members of the standing committee interacted with grievance petitioners. He further said that the overall response of the public was satisfactory, and that this process of interaction would continue in every meeting of the standing committee. He directed officials to be more vigilant while addressing the public grievances on the Prajavani / "Face To Face" / call centre platforms.
meanwhile, the Mayor said that the standing committee unanimously resolved that all the signages of the HTRIMS project would be in three languages - Hindi, Telugu and English. (INN)
