GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Tuesday informed that Telangana Chief Minister had agreed to the enhancement of wages of outsourced sanitary workers working for the GHMC to be on par with other categories of workers in the GHMC.
The GHMC Commissioner said that the orders would be implemented with immediate effect.
"As part of making Hyderabad a global city, the GHMC is going to initiate measures such as installation of web-enabled cameras in all the 32 offices of the GHMC, biometric attendance for each and every employee, and GPS installation in all the vehicles of GHMC. For the welfare of its employees, the GHMC is going to offer lunch rooms, changing rooms, lockers, regular payments for ESI & EPF, and observance of grievance resolution day on every Monday between 1pm and 1:30pm in all the offices of the GHMC," he said.
A Human Resource Module was being introduced for monitoring the regularity of payments and increments, and the maintenance of leave accounts of GHMC employees, he added.
Somesh Kumar requested the elected body and the Unions of the GHMC, and the staff, to cooperate in building a global city, as desired by the Chief Minister. (INN)
