Stating that December 23rd, 2009, was a 'Black Day', Telangana People's Front President and Balladeer Gaddar on Thursday demanded that the centre introduce a separate Telangana bill in Parliament in its budget session.
Gaddar pointed out that it was on December 23rd, 2009, that the centre made its remarkable U-turn on the Telangana issue after pro-integrationists built up pressure on the centre not to proceed with the process of formation of a separate state.
The Balladeer reminded that the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had said on that day that wide-ranging consultations would be held on the Telangana state issue as a large number of parties were sharply divided on it, in contrast to the statement made on December 9th, 2009, in which he had said that the process of the formation of a separate state had begun.
Condemning the second statement, Gaddar demanded immediate introduction of a separate Telangana bill in the budget session of Parliament and announce the formation of state.
In this regard, Gaddar submitted a memorandum to Rangareddy District Collector Dana Kishore and Hyderabad Collector Natarajan Gulzar.
He also called for all elected representatives of all political parties from Telangana region to join hands and pressurize the government to introduce a bill in Parliament for creation of a separate state.
The Balladeer also threatened the centre of serious consequences if it failed to introduce Telangana bill in Parliament.
