The former leader of the Telangana Employees' Union and former member of the TSPSC Ch Vithal gave a jolt to the ruling TRS today.
He joined its staunch rival, the BJP, in New Delhi, in the presence of the state in-charge of the saffron party Tarun Chug and the state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Chug said that the Telangana was formed after a lot of struggles and that several people had lost their lives during these struggles, but that CM K Chandrashekar Rao had turned the state into a personal treasury to loot at will.
He expressed hope that the BJP would come to power in the state in the next Assembly elections.
Naqvi said that the state had a family-led party on one hand and a democratic party on the other, and that the BJP was welcoming Vithal from the family-led party into the democratic party.
Kumar said that the BJP was the right platform for all genuine Telangana statehood activists. He alleged that KCR had cheated all the activists and welcomed all the traitors of the state. He added that the state was formed for achieving funds, water and jobs, but that there was no situation now to achieve them thanks to a rapacious family ruling the state.
Kumar said that several leaders like Vithal were not happy with the TRS, and called upon all such people to join the BJP and extend their support to its fight against KCR. He added that journalist-turned-YouTube-anchor Teenmar Mallanna (Chintapandu Naveen Kumar) would join the BJP on Tuesday.
Vithal said that he was very happy to join the BJP on the death anniversary of B R Ambedkar. He alleged that the separate Telangana activists were facing injustice in the state today, and that the government was ignoring the activists. He also said that the government was not offering employment to the youth though it had 2 lakh vacant posts.
