Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and other ministers including himself, had been consistently engaging with Union ministers to secure the State's rightful share of funds as per constitutional provisions.
Addressing a question raised by MLC K Kavitha during the Question Hour in the Legislative Council, Vikramarka said that the State government aimed to claim all of its entitlements from the Union government, and claimed that his government had secured more funds from the Centre than those brought in by the previous administration in its decade-long rule.
Presenting detailed figures of funds received from the Centre over the past ten years, Vikramarka highlighted the increase in allocations secured in the last year.
The Deputy CM added that the Union government did not allocate funds directly to States, but did it through specific schemes determined by it.
He also said that the current government operated transparently and did not withhold any details regarding funds or expenditures.
