The Supreme Court on Monday directed the state government to pay the arrears of the tuition fee reimbursement scheme to students of Engineering and Medicine, from private and government colleges, within 4 weeks.
The Apex Court issued these directions to the state government after taking cognizance of a report submitted by the government.
Earlier, the Supreme Court gave the state government a breather of 3 weeks to clear the arrears, after it filed a plea requesting for some more time for releasing the arrears.
The state government cited financial problems, and sought time for clearing of the dues. Considering its appeal favourably, the Apex Court had granted it 3 weeks.
