Veteran Congress leader and former minister K Jana Reddy was admitted to Yashoda hospitals today.
The family members of Reddy panicked when he fell ill suddenly, and took him to the hospital. He underwent an angiogram after the doctors found that one of the veins of his heart was clogged.
The doctors said that Reddy's condition was stable and that he had been kept under observation. They advised him to take complete rest for the next couple of days.
Reddy most recently took part in a protest held by the party at Gandhi Bhavan to condemn the decision of the Lok Sabha secretariat to cancel the membership of the party leader Rahul Gandhi of the Lok Sabha.
Reddy lost the election for the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency in 2018 at the hands of BRS candidate Nomula Narasimhaiah. He once again contested for the seat in the ensuing by-election after the demise of Narasimhaiah. However, the son of Narasimhaiah, Nomula Bhagat, defeated Reddy by a clear majority.
Reddy soon stopped taking part most of the party's activities in the constituency, restricting himself just to the important programs. There are reports that his son may contest from the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency in the next Assembly elections.
