Finance Minister Etela Rajender sought to dispel the house of doubts over Mission Bhagiratha program and stated that it would be completed by 2017.
During the Question Hour in the Assembly, Rajender disapproved BJP leader G Kishan Reddy's remark that villages in Telangana lacked CC roads and facilities like drinking water, power and others.
He demanded evidence for Reddy's claim, and asserted that the developmental works were going on at a fast pace. He also refuted the charges of the Congress members that irregularities took place in the water scheme.
Replying to BJP leader G Kishen Reddy's query on MB scheme, Rajender said that the prestigious water scheme would be completed by 2017 and avoid a situation to dig bore wells.
"During Congress regime, I made frequent visits to the minister concerned for just Rs. 1 crore for roads and other works in vain, he added.
The Minister promised that the State government was firm on completing the water scheme by 2017, and cater to the needs of the womenfolk in villages.
