Eluru MLA Alla Nani, on Thursday, announced his resignation from the Congress' primary members and his post, to join the YSR Congress party.
Alla Nani made this announcement after meeting YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchalguda Central Prison on Thursday morning.
It may be mentioned here that Venkata Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, a Congress MLA from the Bobbili Assembly constituency,
switched his loyalty towards the YSR Congress party on Wednesday.
Alla Nani said that he was resigning from the Congress in protest against Jagan's arrest and the "targeting" of former chief minister YSR's family members.
He said that he would campaign for YSR Congress party candidates and "expose" the conspiracies of the Congress and the Telugu Desam against Jagan.
The Congress had served Alla Nani a
show-cause notice for getting close to Jagan while the latter was being questioned by the CBI at Dilkusha Guest House. He was asked to reply to the notice by 4 June. However, instead of replying to the notice, Nani submitted his resignation from the party and the MLA's post. (INN)
