Principal secretary of the Andhra Pradesh State Council Of Higher Education M G Gopal said that 99.21% of aspirants cleared the EDCET 2012 examination. The EDCET is conducted for admissions into B.Ed courses across the state.
Releasing the results at the Platinum Jubilee guest house in the Andhra University, Gopal said that 1,36,667 candidates cleared the examination, out of 1,37,768 who appeared for the test, making the pass percentage 99.21.
He said that 1,37,768 candidates had attempted the examination out of 1,52,278 aspirants applied for the test.
Counseling for qualified candidates would be conducted soon after finalizing the dates with the officials concerned, he said. He reierated the fact that 60,000 seats would be available for students across the state, in 605 colleges.
According to sources, the demand for the course has increased, with the state government conducting massive recruitments for the posts of secondary grade teachers and primary grade teachers. (INN)
