EAMCET 2012 convenor Prof. N V Ramana Rao, on Saturday, informed the media that as many as 3,88,463 applications have been received in the streams of engineering, medicine and agriculture, for this year's entrance test scheduled for 12 May.
Talking to media persons, the convenor said that EAMCET for the engineering stream would be conducted at 559 examination centres across AP, and the test for medicine and agriculture, at 194 centres.
Stating that candidates would not be allowed to write the examination if they come late by even one minute, he appealed to aspirants to reach the examination centres before the scheduled time. He said that candidates can download their hall tickets from the exam's website upto an hour before the examination.
About 800 applications were rejected due to various reasons, the convenor said, and 50 applications were received with a Rs. 10,000 fine so far, with the last date for application being 9 May.
He also said that it was mandatory for reserved SC/ST category students to appear for the EAMCET 2012 exam along with their caste certificates. (INN)
