The alert passengers immediately shifted the driver to a hospital.
The bus belonging to the Godavarikhani depot was proceeding towards Secunderabad with 52 passengers from Godavarikhani. When the vehicle reached Kamanpur, Mahender complained about pain in the chest, but drove the vehicle as usual as he got relief from the pain. After driving the bus for another four kilometers, he suddenly stopped it and fell on the steering wheel.
A doctor who was also travelling in the bus provided first aid to the driver and shifted him to the Peddapalli hospital. Later, he was shifted to Karimangar hospital for better treatment.
Bus conductor Rani thanked the passengers for saving the life of the driver by shifting him immediately to a hospital.
A passenger Chandrasekhar, a Singareni worker, found fault with the Peddapalli hospital authorities for not providing any treatment even one hour after the patient's admission to the hospital. There were no oxygen and ECG facilities in the hospital. Those accompanying Mahendra immediately shifted him to Karimnagar by engaging an ambulance.
