Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu, on Thursday, stated that there is no proposal to end the Rs. 25 subsidy available on domestic gas cylinders, and that the state government will continue to subsidize domestic gas.
In a press statement following a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held to monitor the prices of essential commodities, at the Secretariat, Sridhar Babu said that the government would continue the subsidy.
He said the government would continue subsidies on pulses as well, and also take firm steps to stabilize skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
The minister also took a serious note on YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy's allegations that the state government has totally failed to implement the schemes of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
He refuted them by stating that the government has continued all the schemes effectively, and he asked Jaganmohan Reddy to disclose the details of the scheme(s), if any, that have been dropped.
Sridhar Babu also criticized Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for allowing Jagan's deeksha on farmers issues to take place in the Telangana region without Jagan having made his stand on the statehood issue clear.
Objecting to Jagan's deeksha in Armoor, he asked KCR to disclose the "secret pact" he had with Jagan in this regard.
He said that he is confident about the Congress's performance in the by-elections,and that the opposition parties have taken up padayatras and deekshas in the region only to try to compete with Congress. (INN)
