Differences Between GHCC & RRCC Leaders Surface

Differences among the Congress leaders of the Greater Hyderabad unit came out in the open on Monday.

The animus between the followers of the Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender and Uppal former MLA Bandari Raji Reddy became visible when Danam participated in a Congress Party Foundation Day celebration held at Uppal.

Ranga Reddy District Congress Committee leaders protested after the arrival of Danam at the venue arguing that Danam was the president of the Hyderabad District Congress Committee and not of the Ranga Reddy district unit. They also raised slogans against Danam. Ranga Reddy District Congress cadre then hurled rotten eggs at Danam when he tried to hoist the Party flag ignoring their slogans.

The followers of both the leaders then got into a fracas for a while serious enough that the police needed to intervene and control the situation by sending them away from the scene.

The followers of Ranga Reddy district DCC president Kyama Mallesh tried to assault Danam Nagender himself.

Speaking to the media later, Danam said that nobody had attacked him and that only a jostling took place between two local groups. Stating that differences between two groups were very common in a large Party, Danam said that they would sort out the differences by sitting across the table.
