Activists of the Congress Minority Cell, led by cell chairman Mohammad Sirajuddin on Wednesday staged a dharna at Basheerbagh crossroads, demanding a ban on Hindutva organizations - the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal - for their alleged involvement in acts of terror.
Demanding action against the Ajmer blast accused in the wake of the CBI filing a charge-sheet naming an RSS functionary as one of the accused, the Minority cell chairman demanded that the Centre, the State Government and the Director General of Police ban these organizations immediately.
The Congress activists raised slogans against the Hindutva outfits, and staged the dharna, demanding action against RSS leader Indresh Kumar for his alleged involvement in the blasts.
The CBI had included the name of RSS leader Indresh Kumar in the charge-sheet for the Ajmer Dargah blast case.
The police dispersed the protestors after taking some of them in custody.
