Deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, on Wednesday, stated that the issue of a separate Telangana did not figure in their talks with union Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Talking to media persons after emerging from the meeting with Sushil Kumar Shinde, the deputy chief minister said that he had briefed him about the latest political situation in the state. No other issues, including the Telangana issue, figured in the talks, he said.
Rajanarasimha said that his meeting with the Home minister was not of much political significance.
"It was just a courtesy call,” he claimed.
He also said that he had informed the union Home minister about the cabinet sub-committee's report on the SC-ST sub-plan. He said that the sub-plan would ensure the proper utilisation of funds meant for the welfare of Scheduled Castes & Tribes apart from preventing the diversion of the funds for other purposes.
Responding to a question on speculations of change in leadership in the state, he asked the reporters to pose this question to "those spreading the rumours" in media circles. (INN)
