"Decisions During AP President Rule, Collective"
Reacting to certain recent news stories critical of Governor E S L Narasimhan, the Raj Bhavan claimed it functioned in an objective and impartial manner.
The Raj Bhavan on Saturday claimed that it was a high Constitutional office which functioned in an objective and impartial manner as per its constitutional mandate.
Reacting to certain news stories appearing in a section of the regional media which were critical of Governor E S L Narasimhan, a communiqué from the Raj Bhavan clarified, "The Raj Bhavan would not like to be drawn into needless controversies and react to reports from time to time. It has to be emphasized that such decisions taken are entirely within the legal framework."
The communiqué added, "During the President's Rule a number of decisions were taken on matters which have originated from the concerned departments in response to representations and needs. These are examined by other wings of the department like Law, Finance and General Administration and placed before the Governor. Governor during the period of President's Rule is assisted and advised by the Chief Secretary and Advisors appointed duly. The decisions are a process of collective decision making and attributing the same solely as Governor's decision is not in appreciation of how Government works." (sic)
The Raj Bhavan would like to reiterate that it was objective and impartial, and would remain so, and wanted to keep away from any controversy, the communiqué stated. (INN)
